A Mixed-Income Approach

Mission and Goals:

The mission of the One Charlestown development is to: 

Preserve the same number of public housing units as part of a livable, equitable, and sustainable mixed-income community that is fully integrated into the Charlestown neighborhood.

Three overlapping and complimentary goals drive this project:

  • Making mixed-income housing work—economically and socially
  • Creating a community that meets residents' needs and aspirations
  • Building qualities that make Charlestown a vibrant community and a great place.


Mixing market-rate units with affordable units unlocks new potential for the Bunker Hill Apartment site. 

All affordable units will have the same finishes as market-rate units and will be distributed through the same buildings as market-rate units.
